In 1997, the old town of Salzburg was added to the UNESCO heritage list. There is no shortage
of imposing works of art, the Salzburg cathedral certainly belongs to this category, as well as the fortress,
the Residence, St. Peters' abbey with its impressive cemetery, the Franziskaner Church, the University
Church and the festival suburb with the large and smaller festival house and the riding school.

 



Take a 25 minute walk from the HOTEL SCHLOSS MÖNCHSTEIN***** to the Salzburg fortress.
A wonderful view of the old town awaits you, and also a walk around the fortress, built by the
Archbishop Gerhard in 1077, which is the largest complete castle in Central Europe, and also
worth recommending.

The Mönchsberglift will also bring you to the right place for a city walk. Amble through the
world-famous Getreidegasse, marvel at the monument of Salzburgs' most famous son -
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - at the Mozartplatz, or visit the many sights of the inner city.

Take a ride with the limousine to view the Hellbrunn Castle, wander through the extensive park
and experience the world-wide unique water fountains.
